Carbon Steel

Carbon steels are widely used in almost every industry and are generally classified into low, medium, and high-carbon varieties. Carbon content has a strong influence on the mechanical properties of steel. As the carbon content increases, the steel will typically have higher strength and lower ductility. Medium and high carbon steel are readily heat treated, which can further improve their mechanical properties.

Stainless Steel

Stainless Steel has the high strength and stiffness of cold-rolled steel but is highly corrosion-resistant because of its chromium and nickel content. It can be powder coated or left unpainted as bare metal or grained finish, which gives it a sleek, brushed look.

Thicknesses: 0.015” - 0.060”

Aluminum

Aluminum is a lightweight, corrosion-resistant metal that is great for enclosures and sheet metal parts. It can be powder coated or left unfinished as bare metal. Aluminum can also be anodized, which puts a hard, durable protective oxide coating on it. Aluminum is less stiff than steel; in certain circumstances, a thicker gauge may be required to have the same strength as steel and meet your design needs.

Thicknesses: 0.03” - 0.075”

Galvanized

Galvanized steel is a form of standard steel in which the steel is coated in zinc to ensure enhanced corrosion resistance. This galvanized coating protects the steel substrate from damage typically caused by moisture or temperature changes. The steel is dipped into molten zinc, which then bonds itself to the steel and becomes part of its chemical composition.
