# Custom Metal Store Fixtures

https://kdisplay.com/products/retail-displays/store-fixtures

K-Display, a Chicago sheet metal fabricator, builds gondola and wall bays, endcaps, slatwall panels, and checkout metalwork from fixture house and retailer drawings. The parts ship bare or powder coated, with leveling feet fitted, packed by store as assembled bays or knock-down kits.

## Overview
K-Display builds gondola and wall bays, endcaps, slatwall panels, and checkout metalwork in carbon steel, stainless steel, or aluminum. Uprights, shelves, and brackets are slotted to your pitch and supplied bare or powder coated, fitted with leveling feet, and packed by store as assembled bays or knock-down kits. Each bay joins the next and stays in the store. Displays that hold one promotion and are then replaced are point-of-purchase displays.

## Process
- Cut the slots and hooks: We laser cut or CNC punch the slots and hooks in the flat blank, then form the uprights and shelves.
- Weld the bays square, then coat: We fit each frame up square, weld it, press in the self-clinching hardware, mask the threads, and powder coat to your color and texture.
- Label, kit, and pack: We label each part with its bay, kit the shelves and brackets for that bay with their hardware, fit the leveling feet, and pack by store or wave.

## Typical parts
- Gondola and wall bay frames: Uprights formed and slotted to your pitch, welded base frames, and kickplates for gondola and wall bays.
- Shelves and brackets: Formed shelves and brackets with hooks cut to the upright slot dimensions.
- Endcaps and slatwall panels: Endcap frames and slotted wall panels cut to the width of the bay.
- Backs, infill, and trim panels: Metal panels that close out the fixture and form its visible surfaces.
- Checkout counter frames and stands: Counter frames and checkout stands, finished to match the bays beside them.

## Design considerations
- Existing uprights: A bracket hook that looks right can still seat a slot off, because uprights differ in slot pitch, slot size, and hook shape. A sample of the existing upright fixes all three.
- Shelf load and depth: A shelf's load passes through its brackets into the upright, so weight and depth set the bracket size. A deep shelf carrying heavy stock needs a stiffer bracket than the shelf beside it.
- Weld distortion: Welding heat bows a long frame member as the weld cools. The bow shows as a gap where two bays meet, and every store in the rollout repeats it.
- Finish across waves: Parts from a later wave stand beside parts already in the store, so any difference in powder color or texture shows at the joint.
