In-House Processes
Laser Cutting
Precision, speed, and repeatability — we cut intricate designs, complex geometries, and tight-tolerance features from your DXF or STEP files, turning ideas into flawless flat patterns.
Forming
A diverse fleet of press brakes — ranging in tonnage and bed length — plus an extensive on-site tooling inventory handles everything from simple angles to intricate multi-bend geometries.
Punching
Turret punching produces holes, slots, knockouts, louvers, extrusions, and custom shapes, backed by a large inventory of standard and custom tooling for fast, repeatable results.
Welding
From precision spot welding for clean, high-volume production to full structural MIG/TIG welding for demanding custom fabrications, we produce joints built for real-world use.
Powder Coating
An automated, high-efficiency in-house powder coating line delivers consistent, professional-grade finishes with strong durability and corrosion resistance — no outside finisher required.
Assembly & Value-Added Services
Full assembly of enclosures takes components to finished, ready-to-ship products. Value-added services include decals and labels, graphic transfers, silk-screen printing, custom security features, and hardware kit packing.
Our Capability Lane
Within that full envelope, K-Display’s sweet spot is low-volume, high-mix work — the lane where flexibility beats mass-production tooling:
Where K-Display is most competitive
- Gauge sweet spot: 14–26 ga (full range to 3 ga carbon steel / 1/4″ as shown above)
- Bend: up to 4′
- Powder-coat envelope: 16 × 36 × 48 in.
- Proximity: Chicagoland — a domestic reshoring partner minutes from Midway Airport
One Source, From Cut to Finished Part
Because cutting, forming, welding, powder coating, and assembly all happen under one roof, your parts move from raw material to finished, coated, assembled product without leaving our facility — one vendor, one timeline, and a single point of accountability.
Frequently Asked Questions
What materials does K-Display fabricate?
Aluminum, carbon steel, stainless steel, galvanized, and galvanneal — laser cut and formed from as light as 26 gauge up to 1/4-inch thick, depending on material.
What fabrication processes are done in-house?
Laser cutting, CNC turret punching, press-brake forming, MIG/TIG and spot welding, powder coating, and full assembly — all under one roof, plus value-added services like silk-screen and hardware kitting.
Does K-Display powder coat in-house?
Yes. A semi-automated in-house powder coating line finishes parts alongside fabrication and assembly, so nothing is outsourced to a separate finisher.
What thickness can K-Display cut and form?
Laser cutting ranges by material (e.g., carbon steel 24–3 ga, stainless 26–11 ga, aluminum 22–11 ga); forming goes up to 1/4-inch across materials.
Is K-Display better suited to low or high volumes?
K-Display’s sweet spot is low-volume, high-mix work — prototypes through production runs — where flexibility matters more than mass-production tooling.
