Custom Conveyor Guards, Covers & Brackets

Conveyor guards and covers mount on the side rails of each section through brackets that follow the rail's hole pattern. K-Display makes the guards, covers, and brackets from sheet to your section drawings.

Conveyor guards and covers we build

We build conveyor guards and covers for belt, roller, and chain conveyors: drive, tail, and side covers, belt and chain guards, and the side-rail brackets that carry them. Parts are cut and formed from carbon steel, galvanized steel, galvannealed steel, stainless steel, or aluminum, powder coated safety yellow or your line color, and delivered with self-clinching nuts and studs installed, labeled and kitted for each conveyor section. Guards and hinged doors on the machines beside the line are machine guards & access panels, and their outer panels are machine housings & covers.

The side cover and its two brackets come as separate parts. The brackets go on the rail first, and the cover fastens to them.

Conveyor parts we make

Drive, tail, and side covers
Formed covers over the drive end and tail end of a belt or roller conveyor, and side covers along the rail, fastened to come off for service.
Belt and chain guards
Enclosures for a conveyor's drive belt, sprockets, and chain, in solid or perforated sheet, with returns that hold the guard off the moving part.
Side-rail brackets
Brackets that bolt to the side rail and carry a guard or cover at a set offset, cut to the rail's pitch.
Sensor and cable brackets on the rail
Slotted brackets that hold a photoelectric sensor or cable clamp at a set height on the rail.

Where guards and covers meet the line

Rail datums
A side-rail bracket locates from the rail. Holes cut from the bracket's own edge carry that edge's error into the guard the bracket holds, so we cut its holes and slots from the rail's datum and pitch.
Section by section
Each section of a line has its own length, drive position, and bolt pattern, so a cover cut for one section does not seat on the next.
Drive height
A drive belt low to the floor is within reach of anyone walking past the line. We build its guard as a full enclosure with one removable side for service.

From flat blank to conveyor section

Powder coat adds film thickness to whatever it reaches, which matters most at the threads and at the slots the rail bolts pass through.

  1. Cut and form

We laser cut the covers, guards, and brackets from your section drawings and form their flanges and returns.

  2. Deburr and press in hardware

We deburr every edge and press in self-clinching nuts and studs before any coating.

  3. Mask, coat, and kit

We mask the threads and the slots the rail bolts pass through, powder coat, then label and kit each section.

Keep adjustment points reachable

An adjuster can be visible through a cover opening and still be awkward to use. The socket needs a straight approach to the bolt, and the handle needs room to turn without striking a bracket or adjacent cover.

Check that tool path with the surrounding metalwork fitted, using the conveyor designer’s specified service arrangement. The illustration shows a removable access cover while the mounting bracket stays in place. Follow the equipment’s isolation procedure before removing covers, and restore the specified guarding before operation.

Conveyor end rail isolated for service, with a small cover removed and a socket extension reaching an adjuster through an orange-edged opening. Arrows show tool approach and handle movement clear of the fitted bracket.

The socket's straight approach and the handle's turning arc require different clearances. The opening and nearby bracket must accommodate both with the surrounding metalwork fitted, so the adjuster remains usable during service.
